Regional Accounting Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Accounting Director to oversee the accounting operations of the firm across the GCC region, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all accounting processes. This individual will lead a multicultural team, implement robust financial systems, and provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and client success.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the accounting strategy in alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • Provide financial leadership to support decision-making and growth initiatives.

Financial Operations Management:

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, including VAT and tax laws across GCC countries.

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multicultural accounting team across multiple offices.
  • Promote collaboration and alignment within the finance function across regions.

Client Support:

  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance for clients from various sectors.
  • Provide financial insights and support to enhance client services.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements in the GCC region, including IFRS and local accounting standards.
  • Implement internal controls and procedures to mitigate financial risks.

System Implementation and Improvement:

  • Optimize and standardize accounting systems and processes across all regional offices.
  • Drive the adoption of technology to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in managing financial operations in a multinational or regional firm.
  • Experience working with clients across diverse sectors and industries.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS and GCC-specific regulations (VAT, tax laws, etc.).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting softwares and ERP systems.
