Position Overview:

athGADLANG is seeking talented bilingual professional preferably from Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, Jordan, and Saudi to join our team as an Indirect Tax Manager. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and advising on all aspects of indirect tax, including VAT, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws, and providing strategic guidance to clients.

Job Purpose:

  • To lead the efficient and successful delivery of indirect tax services to clients
  • Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service
  • Shape and deliver projects to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our quality criteria
  • Build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations
  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Directors and above
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities for new/existing clients

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Manage the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business-driven approach taken
  • To be part of a team responsible for advisory work on VAT impact assessments, VAT readiness programs, and VAT implementation projects
  • To have a working knowledge of how to drive a due diligence project from an indirect tax perspective in addition to hands-on experience in the post-transaction structuring advisory.
  • To prepare for the potential introduction of VAT in the KSA and to discuss with clients how this may impact them
  • To develop and lead VAT training programs for both internal athGADLANG teams and external to tax administrations and the business community
  • To build a deep understanding of the Gulf Corporation Council (“GCC”) VAT Framework, Customs Law, and its practical application across the GCC member states
  • To engage with colleagues in overseas offices to deliver VAT advice in respect of global jurisdictions

Qualifications:

  • CA (Chartered Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualified or relevant degree.
  • 6 to 7 years of relevant experience in tax consulting, with a significant focus on VAT.
  • In-depth knowledge of Saudi tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in providing tax advisory services and strategic planning.
  • Ability to identify tax-saving opportunities and advise clients on tax-efficient structures.
  • Proven track record working with a Big 4 or Big 10 accounting firm (Preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across borders with a wide network of people.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
  • Anticipate and identify risks, escalate issues as appropriate, and drive performance improvement solutions.
