Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This role requires expertise in payment reviews, quantity take-offs, claims/arbitration procedures, and methods. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working on mega residential, commercial, and hospitality projects, demonstrating innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in certifying completed work by consultants and contractors.
- Maintain and control the measurement filing system, including logging and filing RFIs (Request for Information).
- Assist in valuing variation orders, preparing site instructions, and evaluating contractor claims.
- Evaluate physical site progress and verify it against monthly progress certifications.
- Finalize payment and close-out accounts, verifying the accuracy of all details.
- Check material on-site payments and physically verify them.
- Review consultant and contractor interim monthly payment certificates.
- Provide pre-and post-contract cost management services for key ongoing client projects.
- Coordinate and collaborate effectively with the wider business team.
- Uphold FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) contract administration principles.
Qualifications:
- Minimum qualification of a BSc, BEng, BA, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, with a preferred postgraduate qualification.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 10 years in a similar role and ideally within the GCC region.
- The candidate must be a Sri Lankan National.
- Proven experience in payment reviews, quantity take-offs, claims, and arbitration procedures.
- Demonstrable experience working on diverse projects, including residential, commercial, and hospitality projects, with a specific emphasis on mega projects.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain excellent client relationships.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive and innovative approach.
- Recognized professional qualification (RICS highly recommended).
- Valid driving license.
- Experience in major project planning, particularly using Primavera or similar software, is preferred.
- Excellent communication and computer literacy skills are essential.
